This week we have come across a man that was sitting outside a bakery in Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand – we were stopping in at the bakery to buy a few things from Windmill Bakery to feed some of the nannies that come to use our service for line dancing every week – when we were stopped by this man. Who was allowed to sit outside the front of the bakery and sell bags of tomatoes – so we stopped and asked him what he needed the $5 for in which he replied “I sell my bags of tomatoes so that I can hopefully have enough coins to buy a box of chocolates for Christmas for my family. So sure enough we gave him $5 and in return we were able to take a bag of fresh tomatoes and able to use these to feed our staff.
If anyone is ever in Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand and you see this man please be generous enough to give him a few coins – you never know what a person is going through this Xmas and the smallest gesture is sometimes the biggest gesture to those living rough on the streets.
God bless this man and we hope your family enjoys a box of chocolates this Christmas.
Tune in next week to see who we give to in week 11, in our goal to help a person, animal or service in need.
